Finish-grinding or polishing refers to the processing of the surface of metal parts to create a specific surface finish. This can be done for aesthetic reasons, to optimize product functionality, or to meet specific customer requirements.
Certain finishes also contribute to increasing wear and corrosion resistance or to sustainably improving the adhesion of coatings. Depending on the requirements, various surface finishes can be achieved: linear finishes, matte surfaces, non-directional structures, or high-gloss finishes. For these applications, abrasive fleece, abrasive cloth, and felt tools are primarily used, either as continuous belts or rollers.
